Gate Dancer v. Imp Society

In 1984, the Jack Van Berg trained Gate Dancer, fresh off a Preakness victory, came to Ak-sar-ben to race in the $150,000 Omaha Gold Cup. His main competition was Wayne D. Lucas trained Imp Society, winner of the Ak-sar-ben 4-H, Presidents Cup and The Ambassadors. Gate Dancer went of at .50 and Imp Society odds of 1.60. Gate Dancer with Laffit Picay, Jr. up went on to defeat Imp Society with Pat Day in the irons by 6 lenghts.
In 1985, the Re-Match was set in the $150,000 Cornhusker Handicap. Gate Dancer at odds of .60, this time with Chris McCarron up, went on to defeat Bandwagon Harry by 2 lenghts. Imp Society who finished 4th.
